“Bůh jako červ hlodající v ementálu Univerza” Milan Mikuláštík se dostal výstavou Pavěda do kurátorsky ne zcela typické situace, kdy na místo výběru umělců do předem dané koncepce, se snažil najít prolínajicí ideový moment pro nesourodou skupinu umělců, kterou primárně spojuje společný ateliér v bývalé Bubenčské továrně.

That's what this exhibition is about:
Is this an artistic group, or not?
This place is close to the studio
where all the participating artists work.
They form a certain social group
that has been created spontaneously.
That's why I had the idea to ask them
to move their works one kilometer or so,
to show them in the context of this institution.
I was curious about the result.
Usually, the curator chooses a theme
and then contacts artists who might resonate with it.
However, this situation is reversed
because the curator needs to find the intersection
of all the strong artistic characters
whose decision to work together
isn't a result of some program or manifest.
The word "Pseudoscience" has a broad meaning.
In any case, this is not a thematic exhibition
and the title is more of an alibi,
an attempt to find what they may have in common.
The subheading of the exhibition
is a quote by Menocchio, the Italian heretic miller.
In a way, these artists are heretics
against the contemporary mainstream conceptual approach.
They often express the contradiction
between the rational and irrational cognition.
Many of them make use of irony.
The exhibiting artists also deal with myths.
And these are just some blurred edges
of all that the exhibition expresses.
As I've already said, the title "Pseudoscience"
is only a general label to what is presented here.
