Pod vedením KW studenti výtvarné výchovy dostali za úkol namalovat klasické zátiší, které však viděli pouze omezenou dobu.

Welcome, everybody.
At first I thought there would be some kind of accent today,
but let's not exaggerate.
ART LESSON by Eva Koťátková Lessons given by visual artists
The theme is simple: "School still life".
You should focus
on the color,
the materials and the expressiveness.
After a while I'll hide the still life
and you'll try to recreate it from memory.
Try to observe it carefully,
and think about the sizes, the diameters,
the relations, the materials, the colors,
the weight, and so on...
Try to make some kind of outline
of the overall shape.
Try to remember it.
Then let your expressive self work
and try to rebuild the materials and the objects
based on your associations.
You don't have to use the angle from which
you're looking at it now.
The still life has multiple sides.
It won't be here anyway, so it doesn't matter
where you sit. You can walk around it
and find a better place.
I'm hiding it now!
The redness,
the light orangeness, the dark orangeness,
the brownness...
the boxness...
Let's have a look at some pictures.
These are two poodles
in hot August weather
by the door of a house.
This is a cross painted with a brush on a wall.
This one is a print of the moon above the pond and
this is a poor quality copy
of a drawing by the Italian futurist poet Marinetti
showing the cars of the future.
The last one
is a print
showing a shoal of fish.
This principle was exploited
for instance by Gombrich.
This is a part of a painting that has nothing to do
with pooches.
It's a close-up
of a cloud of smoke.
This is plastic tape
stuck on a wall.
This is a poster damaged by rain.
This one is a sign
of a laundry basket
standing on a bag of washing powder,
and says you'll be able to wash 20 baskets
of laundry with one bag.
And this is the stained door of Meet Factory gallery.
As for the project you've been doing here,
it shows that the abstraction is permeable
in both directions.
Some among you demonstrated quite well
that with some abstract stains and expressiveness
you can achieve something real
without actually seeing it.
So that's it. Thanks!
