Kvalita přehrávaného videa je zvolena podle rychlosti vašeho připojení.

Jak se opatrně pohybuje po pláni s těmi těžítky na nohou, vypadá jako první žena na Zemi.

Nechává střídavě jednu nohu na zemi, zatímco druhou klade před sebe. Zpovzdálí ji doprovázím a dělám to samé, takže se můj výhled pohupuje. Snažím se držet mimo záběr, když se na mne otáčí.

„Myslím, že bych si neuchoval zdraví ani ducha, kdybych nestrávil aspoň čtyři hodiny denně – a bývá to obyčejně i více – toulkami v lesích a přes kopce a pole, naprosto beze všech pozemských závazků.“ 1

At that time we lived close to each other
and we'd hang out together all the time.
We'd look at each other's works
and talk about many things,
such as the way conversations work:
one person responds to the other
but one of them is always quieter.
And we also talked about walking
but I don't know where it came from...
I think it was in connection with walks
because we often talked when walking.
In such a situation,
you just walk mechanically,
without knowing where you're heading.
And you don't even care.
The important thing is the conversation.
But the conversation is not there.
You only left the background of it.
Yes, that's right.
We're just explaining how we got to work
with the theme of walking.
We also talked about things
that can happen in life,
about repetition and turning in circles...
Also about the mechanical aspect
of movements.
This exhibition isn't only
about putting one leg in front of the other.
The Notes to Walking exhibited at Jelení
focus a lot on the recurrence of the same,
on mechanical repetition,
and other things connected with walking.
This is also reflected in the texts
on the drum.
Walking is also often mentioned in speech,
the word "go" having so many meanings.
The final result of these ideas
is the video you can see in Karlín.
It presents the motif of walking
in a very straightforward way.
It shows the mechanics of the movement.
It's only about walking.
Our aim was to create an illusion of space
and to emphasize moments
one usually doesn't notice when walking,
like the perspective of the feet
and the sound of footsteps.
