Events in "Dům umění České Budějovice"
Liam Gillick in the House of Art in České Budějovice presented installation Wall Diagrams From The Early 1990s and 2000s, which although has a retrospective nature, it is an autonomous site-specific project.
Gillick´s exhibition is based on the structure like his whole work.
The structure may appear in spatial or in painting works like here.
The structure may also be found in his texts.
Either speaking about the texts he uses for his spatial interventions or
about the texts he writes as an essayist or a critic.
Here the structure is emphasized by the black and white contrast.
He liberated himself from things that could influence him.
He did one big structure of it here.
He reacted so not only on the reason why he had done it,
but also on the space, which is very important to him.
He always work with the given space and he never repeats.
This exhibition is his first bigger exhibition
not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Eastern Europe.
