Visual artist born in Timisoara, Romania. Studied art in Romania and Poland. Participated in group exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and has works in various collections (New York MOMA, Uffizzi, Albertina, Washington National Gallery, etc).
Teaches in universities in Poland, Romania and the United States since 1993. Presently affiliated with the Intermedia Department in Kraków, Poland. Achimescu’s work is a melange of traditional techniques and contemporary approaches: blogging, drawing, objets trouves and digital imaging.
