- The exhibition Bad Society presents politically involved art.00:00:11.475
- 00:00:11.475
- It presents works that are both more explicitly politically involved00:00:15.749
- 00:00:15.749
- and less explicitly politically involved describing the nineties in Slovakia,00:00:24.444

- the time called "meËiarismus" after the prime minister - VladimÌr MeËiar.00:00:30.789
- 00:00:30.789
- For me as a curator, the most important matter here00:00:34.963
- 00:00:34.963
- is the term "politically involved art", which is a bit problematic.00:00:38.639
- 00:00:38.639
- The term is burdened historically, because of the communism era.00:00:42.444
- 00:00:42.444
- In fact, it¥s ceased to exist in a dictionary.00:00:46.027
- 00:00:46.027
- However, I think there is nothing bad about the term itself.00:00:48.753
- 00:00:48.753
- After twenty years, the term should be used again.00:00:55.305
- 00:00:55.305
- Because there are many artists creating politically involved art.00:00:59.493
- 00:00:59.493

- except the group "Rafani", which is Czech, only Slovak artists are being presented here.00:01:20.616
- 00:01:20.616
- For instance, I can name Petr Kalmus and Michal Murin.00:01:24.686
- 00:01:24.686
- Michal Murin made his cycle "Meciar¥s Portrait" in 1992-1998.00:01:29.789
- 00:01:29.789
- Petr Kalmus is known for political provocations which sometimes may be on the edge.00:01:35.414
- 00:01:35.414
- Further I could name Martin PiaËek,00:01:45.697

- Tom·ö Rafa, the winner of the Oskar »epan Prize, and Petr RÛnai.00:01:50.505

- 00:02:13.800
- They work more with the formal side of visuality.00:02:21.797
- 00:02:21.797
- Actually, I wanted to evaluate these two opposite approaches.00:02:29.170
- 00:02:29.170
- I wanted to see which approach addresses us more,00:02:37.472
- 00:02:37.472
- which works have survived their time, and which ones are incomprehensible.00:02:42.678
- 00:02:42.678
- This exhibition is not meant to be a whole complete story.00:02:50.069
- 00:02:50.069
- It is an open story.00:02:53.416
- 00:02:53.416
- In this sense, it is related to the other exhibitions realized00:02:55.949
