- The aim of the exhibition The ground plan of variability is to thematize00:00:00.000
- 00:00:00.000
- the institutional procedures of regional galleries, it is an effort aimed at00:00:07.891
- 00:00:07.891
- meeting and discussing the practice and meaning of regional galleries,00:00:12.633
- 00:00:12.633
- not only in Slovakia but generally. The aim was to present the functions00:00:23.428
- 00:00:23.428
- of institutional galleries in the form of collective exhibition.00:00:28.066
- 00:00:28.066
- The final form of exhibition was of great importance to me and other authors,00:00:34.461
- 00:00:34.461
- it wasn`t supposed to be author`s exhibition, but the final installation00:00:40.333
- 00:00:40.333
- was created as a result of collective discussion, so it was a collective work of art.00:00:45.243
- 00:00:45.243
- The project began with discussions and side specific realization in Turiec Gallery.00:00:59.827
- 00:00:59.827
- An ordinary installation was the first motive of the project, we thematized00:01:06.147
- 00:01:06.147
- various artifacts used in ordinary installation work such as plinths, showcases,00:01:14.474
- 00:01:14.474
- which we used rather in the process of emptying, so an ordinary artifact00:01:21.220
- 00:01:21.220
- became an artifact exposed in the space of exhibition.00:01:27.274
- 00:01:27.274
- The work with the archive was the second motive, we visited the archive00:01:46.754
- 00:01:46.754
- in Martin several times before the exhibition was open and we looked through00:01:51.001
- 00:01:51.001
- the archive of the gallery, we worked mainly with the photographs00:01:55.892
- 00:01:55.892
- of 80`s which later became part of the exhibition grouped in thematic units.00:01:59.247
- 00:01:59.247
- On these photographs we found interesting various motives,00:02:01.893
- 00:02:01.893
- one of them was the motive of space variability.00:02:08.394
- 00:02:08.394
- We tried to gather all the artefacts from the offices available00:02:20.284
- 00:02:20.284
- for the exhibition and place them in the exhibition area.00:02:24.679
- 00:02:24.679
- It was another motive - to point out the design of 80`s which is often00:02:29.917
- 00:02:29.917
- rejected or pushed aside, so we brought it back to the exhibition area00:02:36.275
- 00:02:36.275
- as an interesting and valuable artifact worth of taking notice of it.00:02:42.669
- 00:02:42.669
- The third range was the motive of the space itself, our approach00:03:21.001
- 00:03:21.001
- as we removed the lights and blinds which are normally there in the gallery,00:03:37.272
- 00:03:37.272
- and this way we worked with motives of the design of second half of 80`s,00:03:43.456
- 00:03:43.456
- as well as with the motives of an ordinary exhibition performance,00:03:49.938
- 00:03:49.938
- and also we grouped particular motives into the composition to lead00:03:53.964
- 00:03:53.964
- the visitor through the exhibition area, in one of the spaces there is a motive00:04:04.631
- 00:04:04.631
- where the visitor is forced to go round the space and walk near the walls00:04:11.192
- 00:04:11.192
- where the visitor is supposed to get into direct contact with the view00:04:19.316
- 00:04:19.316
- out of the window and contact with the street outside the gallery.00:04:24.704
