Existential Housekeeping 2
Pokračujúci stockholmský seriál Existential Housekeeping v galérii HIT je vedený cestou kokosového kinhin do retailových galerijných obývačiek, odených v sezónnom shutterstockovom monochróme.
- So I started to play a bit with sculpture materials,00:00:04.993
- 00:00:04.993
- which have been quite unknown for me,00:00:09.055
- 00:00:09.055
- since I have never worked with them before.00:00:13.185
- 00:00:13.185
- It was a follow up to my previous installations,00:00:17.563
- 00:00:17.563
- where I had been using ready-mades a lot,00:00:21.801
- 00:00:21.801
- that is various, found objects...00:00:25.965
- 00:00:25.965
- trash objects, basically.00:00:35.079
- 00:00:35.079
- I have started to work with textile00:00:48.396
- 00:00:48.396
- also because I didn't know how to work with any other material.00:00:52.601
- 00:00:52.601
- It was the most natural material with which I could achieve a satisfying outcome.00:00:57.002
- 00:00:57.002
- And now, maybe, in the case of the casts I am reproducing it00:01:01.462
- 00:01:01.462
- reciprocally with textile texture.00:01:05.802
- 00:01:05.802
- But it's always associations, or negations of the object00:01:09.902
- 00:01:09.902
- or the properties of the material it is made from.00:01:14.182
- 00:01:14.182
- For example, the reliefs are made from plaster,00:01:24.435
- 00:01:24.435
- but in Stockholm I have been working also with concrete.00:01:28.823
- 00:01:28.823
- I liked the heavy, hard material very much in its soft rendition,00:01:33.085
- 00:01:33.085
- in the thinness of the relief - it is actually very frail00:01:38.609
- 00:01:38.609
- and can break easily.00:01:43.023
- 00:01:43.023
- With the Coconuts, for example, the initial point doesn't lie00:01:48.652
- 00:01:48.652
- in coconut palm or coconut as a fact of nature,00:01:53.128
- 00:01:53.128
- but in the coconut that comes from virtual reality00:01:57.473
- 00:01:57.473
- - stock photography and various advertising photography of coconut00:02:03.498
- 00:02:03.498
- - where I have found it intriguing merely by its form.00:02:11.513
- 00:02:11.513
- And the depictions are, in a way,00:02:18.387
- 00:02:18.387
- extracted from some post-internet reality,00:02:24.135
- 00:02:24.135
- that is, not so much from the internet as a medium,00:02:28.258
- 00:02:28.258
- but as a new kind of reality that surrounds us and is part of it00:02:32.608
- 00:02:32.608
- - it is as natural as the nature itself.00:02:36.854
- 00:02:36.854
- Also to mention the textile hand...00:02:48.295
- 00:02:48.295
- it is actually an appropriation00:02:54.746
- 00:02:54.746
- of a Castelbajac handbag from 1986, the year I was born in.00:02:59.190
- 00:02:59.190
- A glove shaped handbag. And this is its freestyle appropriation.00:03:05.147
- 00:03:05.147
- So the hands, even in the collages, are quite dominant for me, now.00:03:09.424
- 00:03:09.424
- I have basically chosen it as a part of human body00:03:13.758
- 00:03:13.758
- that interests me most.00:03:18.138
