Showroom
Výsledná konstelace mimo jiné reviduje fundamentální rozlišení na volné a užité umění a spíše podporuje určité příbuznosti v přemýšlení a pracovních postupech designera a volně tvořícího umělce. Produkty jejich práce vytrhává z jejich běžného kontextu nahlížení, čímž je činí částečně nefunkčními.

- The exhibition is called Showroom.00:00:15.957
- 00:00:15.957
- Its conception or the basic idea emerged from the gallery's disposition.00:00:19.229
- 00:00:19.229
- When I saw the gallery,00:00:27.266
- 00:00:27.266
- it appeared to me it could have been as well a shop.00:00:29.247
- 00:00:29.247
- It is clearly a gallery space but its disposition corresponds to a shop a bit.00:00:35.016
- 00:00:35.016
- I had immediately a clear idea of how to do it,00:00:42.415
- 00:00:42.415
- although the things presented here kept shaping up all the time and00:00:45.663
- 00:00:45.663
- I changed the exhibition form many times.00:00:52.390
- 00:00:52.390
- The original idea was to make it more architectonic,00:00:55.921
- 00:00:55.921
- there should have been an architecture00:00:59.107
- 00:00:59.107
- complying with a showroom's or a shop's architecture.00:01:01.384
- 00:01:01.384
- But then I abandoned this idea because00:01:08.028
- 00:01:08.028
- I realized it could be better presented00:01:11.045
- 00:01:11.045
- 00:01:11.045
- by things I am more familiar with.00:01:12.897
- 00:01:12.897
- From the original idea remained just the name00:01:17.001
- 00:01:17.001
- which is important because it refers to a particular place.00:01:19.119
- 00:01:19.119
- Another important aspect is that I approached Monika.00:01:26.472
- 00:01:26.472
- Condition of the exhibition was to have a guest00:01:31.461
- 00:01:31.461
- and was thinking about inviting a designer00:01:33.952
- 00:01:33.952
- or a fashion designer from the very beginning.00:01:36.534
- 00:01:36.534
- It appeared good to me to ask Monika because00:01:41.233
- 00:01:41.233
- her work is significant for fashion production00:01:43.841
- 00:01:43.841
- and I am interested in it.00:01:46.925
- 00:01:46.925
- I wanted to extract her completed work00:01:52.305
- 00:01:52.305
- from the fashion design context and place it into the gallery.00:01:56.419
- 00:01:56.419
- I wanted the things to mingle somehow.00:02:01.054
- 00:02:01.054
- Monika made a completely new thing through which00:02:08.502
- 00:02:08.502
- she reacted to my work because I was ahead a bit.00:02:11.512
- 00:02:11.512
- The shirt which is hanging here developed my idea00:02:17.510
- 00:02:17.510
- which is included in the paintings.00:02:22.016
- 00:02:22.016
- The idea deals with a multiplicity,00:02:24.484
- 00:02:24.484
- a formal treatment and a serial production.00:02:28.700
- 00:02:28.700
- Basically the paintings here are almost monochromatic,00:02:34.146
- 00:02:34.146
- important is the technique of mechanical spraying.00:02:38.394
- 00:02:38.394
- Such technique takes some time and00:02:44.340
- 00:02:44.340
- it simulates a machine process of a print.00:02:48.126
- 00:02:48.126
- They are all the same so they become a product in a way.00:02:55.838
- 00:02:55.838
- The shirt represents a similar principle,00:03:05.803
- 00:03:05.803
- as it contains all sizes which are normally available on the market00:03:09.141
- 00:03:09.141
- and they became one piece.00:03:14.429
- 00:03:14.429
- So that is how the things mingle.00:03:18.296
- 00:03:18.296
- An important part of the exhibition are00:03:21.167
- 00:03:21.167
- the plastic bags at the end.00:03:23.958
- 00:03:23.958
- There is an explaining text to the exhibition printed on the bags.00:03:28.297
- 00:03:28.297
- The text was written by Martin Nytra00:03:32.308
- 00:03:32.308
- and it serves as a guideline to the exhibition.00:03:37.548
