TRANSFER
Sekundárně pak název opisuje i přenesení a představení české malby v zahraničí.

- 00:00:43.055
- many of whom are here today with us.00:00:46.108
- 00:00:46.108
- I'm happy to welcome you to this exhibition.00:00:59.241
- 00:00:59.241
- It is entitled "All About... Prague"00:01:13.273
- 00:01:13.273
- as Prague has a special relationship to Munich.00:01:16.601
- 00:01:16.601
- Prague is the closest capital city to Munich.00:01:39.799
- 00:01:39.799
- It is closer than Vienna, closer than Paris,00:01:43.805
- 00:01:43.805
- and even closer that Berlin.00:01:49.803
- 00:01:49.803
- However, Prague is an unknown city to us here.00:02:00.823
- 00:02:00.823
- Prague is closely connected with history,00:02:14.705
- 00:02:14.705
- yet we don't know much about it today.00:02:19.478
- 00:02:19.478
- We have little knowledge of Prague,00:03:02.451
- 00:03:02.451
- and we don't know anything00:03:05.217
- 00:03:05.217
- about its contemporary cultural scene.00:03:09.703
- 00:03:09.703
- We are very grateful to both curators,00:03:12.692
- 00:03:12.692
- Michael Rittstein and Kateřina Tučková00:03:16.231
- 00:03:16.231
- for presenting to us this fine exhibition.00:03:19.091
- 00:03:19.091
- The situation used to be different.00:03:46.146
- 00:03:46.146
- I remember well that for my generation00:03:48.730
- 00:03:48.730
- in the 60's, Prague was a city00:03:51.617
- 00:03:51.617
- showing an alternative perspective.00:03:54.521
- 00:03:54.521
- At the time, I was a student00:04:17.956
- 00:04:17.956
- of Munich Academy of Arts.00:04:21.225
- 00:04:21.225
- At least three times in one semester00:04:23.130
- 00:04:23.130
- we would go to Prague via Plzeň,00:04:25.973
- 00:04:25.973
- which was not always without complications.00:04:29.546
- 00:04:29.546
- Then came the unforgettable day00:04:47.086
- 00:04:47.086
- of which we now celebrate00:04:55.759
- 00:04:55.759
- the 40th anniversary of.00:04:58.658
- 00:04:58.658
- We did not plan it,00:05:01.462
- 00:05:01.462
- but this happened to be the 40th anniversary00:05:03.470
- 00:05:03.470
- of August 21, 1968.00:05:06.709
- 00:05:06.709
- As I've said before, we did not choose00:05:41.779
- 00:05:41.779
- this date on purpose.00:05:43.929
- 00:05:43.929
- However, it is often true00:05:46.171
- 00:05:46.171
- that such coincidences00:05:48.767
- 00:05:48.767
- end up having the most success.00:05:51.947
- 00:05:51.947
- On the night before August 21,00:06:16.341
- 00:06:16.341
- Czechoslovakia was attacked00:06:20.258
- 00:06:20.258
- by the Warsaw Pact armies.00:06:23.668
- 00:06:23.668
- After the Prague Spring,00:06:28.403
- 00:06:28.403
- a tough winter came.00:06:34.492
- 00:06:34.492
- After this tragic date,00:07:09.729
- 00:07:09.729
- many things kept occurring in Prague.00:07:12.260
- 00:07:12.260
- However, they were invisible to us.00:07:14.708
- 00:07:14.708
- After the Velvet Revolution,00:07:20.125
- 00:07:20.125
- the cultural scene re-emerged,00:07:25.254
- 00:07:25.254
- but we were no longer connected with it.00:07:28.509
- 00:07:28.509
- During the dark period,00:07:54.887
- 00:07:54.887
- there were four professors00:07:57.757
- 00:07:57.757
- whose students00:08:00.435
- 00:08:00.435
- later became lecturers00:08:02.938
- 00:08:02.938
- teaching students about their change.00:08:05.979
- 00:08:05.979
- It's the young students' works we have here today.00:08:08.432
- 00:08:08.432
- Hence the title of the exhibition.00:08:18.912
- 00:08:18.912
- Ladies and gentlemen, welcome.00:08:33.612
- 00:08:33.612
- I had prepared a nice and short speech00:08:37.292
- 00:08:37.292
- that I wanted to give with the kind help00:08:40.939
- 00:08:40.939
- of our interpreter, Mrs. Heizig.00:08:44.697
- 00:08:44.697
- However, everything has already been said00:08:58.747
- 00:08:58.747
- in the introduction,00:09:01.564
- 00:09:01.564
- from the title, the conception,00:09:03.348
- 00:09:03.348
- to our happiness at being able00:09:05.892
- 00:09:05.892
- to carry out this exhibition.00:09:08.004
- 00:09:08.004
- So I will only point out00:09:20.313
- 00:09:20.313
- that there is a bilingual catalogue00:09:22.352
- 00:09:22.352
- you can buy in Czech bookshops00:09:24.741
- 00:09:24.741
- and also in galleries here in Munich.00:09:26.974
- 00:09:26.974
- I would also like to thank00:09:37.227
