Biela noc
Prvá košická Biela noc/ Nuit Blanche (2. októbra 2010) sprístupnila súčasné umenie v netradičných priestoroch a v nezvyčajnom čase. Nuit Blanche navrhuje mestám reflexiu nad rôznymi formami aktuálneho urbanistického vývoja a zabezpečenia rôznych služieb a adaptovanej organizácie ako napríklad značenie, osvetlenie, bezpečnosť. Nuit Blanche podporuje „miernu“ mobilitu ako napr. zlepšenie podmienok na prepravu ľudí bicyklom, hromadnou, či kyvadlovou dopravou. Nuit Blanche podporuje výmeny medzi centrom mesta a jeho perifériou. Partnerské mestá projektu Nuit Blanche Europe sa snažia podporovať a rozvíjať výmeny medzi jednotlivými európskymi mestami, ich umelcami a obyvateľmi prostredníctvom každoročného jedného spoločne vytvoreného umeleckého projektu

- "The White Night" project was born in Paris00:00:09.613
- 00:00:09.613
- and today is its 10th anniversary.00:00:15.251
- 00:00:15.251
- I've been living in Paris for 6 years00:00:19.098
- 00:00:19.098
- so I've known this extraordinary event as a visitor.00:00:23.384
- 00:00:23.384
- In my opinion, such an event might work in Slovakia.00:00:29.207
- 00:00:29.207
- Very few people here go to museums00:00:35.916
- 00:00:35.916
- so it's important to bring contemporary art00:00:40.568
- 00:00:40.568
- to unusual places and the public space.00:00:45.568
- 00:00:45.568
- This was proven by the last year's success.00:00:50.068
- 00:00:50.068
- We try to balance the project00:00:54.746
- 00:00:54.746
- so as to satisfy the experts as well as the general public.00:00:58.246
- 00:00:58.246
- This is a big challenge.00:01:04.450
- 00:01:04.450
- We need to find installations00:01:08.311
- 00:01:08.311
- that are accessible to the public.00:01:11.999
- 00:01:11.999
- The concept is targeted at experts00:01:15.792
- 00:01:15.792
- as well as the general public.00:01:19.792
- 00:01:19.792
- But our goal is to find the right balance,00:01:23.988
- 00:01:23.988
- not to create a "Disneyland".00:01:28.988
- 00:01:28.988
- There are00:01:33.847
- 00:01:33.847
- 00:01:33.847
- They present sound installations, interactive installations,00:01:37.294
- 00:01:37.294
- light architecture, a festival of poetry with concerts,00:01:42.540
- 00:01:42.540
- a lot of modern dance in comparison with the last year,00:01:48.724
- 00:01:48.724
- video art and interactive projects.00:01:54.093
- 00:01:54.093
- You can also find here sculptures and objects,00:02:01.152
- 00:02:01.152
- performances, concerts, all kinds of things.00:02:06.970
- 00:02:06.970
- If I did this for experts like myself,00:02:11.221
- 00:02:11.221
- my choices would probably be different.00:02:15.413
- 00:02:15.413
- But I think we managed to find a good compromise.00:02:21.198
- 00:02:21.198
- Of course, you can't say that all the installations00:02:26.803
- 00:02:26.803
- are absolutely brilliant.00:02:31.671
- 00:02:31.671
- We offer a combination of quality and entertainment.00:02:34.671
- 00:02:34.671
- One of our goals is to educate people.00:02:41.546
- 00:02:41.546
- They really have an awful behavior towards art,00:02:46.597
- 00:02:46.597
- they destroy it or even piss on sculptures.00:02:50.897
- 00:02:50.897
- I hope that they learned from the last year's experience00:02:55.220
- 00:02:55.220
- and that this year will be better in this regard.00:03:00.806
- 00:03:00.806
- But we also learned00:03:06.333
- 00:03:06.333
- and some installations will be fenced off.00:03:09.333
- 00:03:09.333
- It will be a little like in a zoo but it's necessary00:03:13.511
- 00:03:13.511
- because you can't even get a good insurance in Slovakia.00:03:18.976
- 00:03:18.976
- Last year the event was absolutely crowded.00:03:24.696
- 00:03:24.696
- Half of the people were delighted00:03:30.037
- 00:03:30.037
- and the other half were angry as they expected a laser show00:03:33.537
- 00:03:33.537
- and fireworks and a rock band00:03:38.965
- 00:03:38.965
- and when they found out it was all about art,00:03:42.821
- 00:03:42.821
- they were shocked.00:03:48.078
- 00:03:48.078
- But the main thing is that the event raised a discussion.00:03:51.510
- 00:03:51.510
- As a novelty, this year we will present three art stars.00:03:57.573
- 00:03:57.573
- There will be Miguel Chevalier,00:04:04.906
- 00:04:04.906
- the author of the famous installation "Fractal Flowers".00:04:08.406
- 00:04:08.406
- This work is among the top ten digital installations.00:04:13.775
- 00:04:13.775
- The second star is the dancer Catherine Langlade00:04:18.677
- 00:04:18.677
- who focuses on modern dance00:04:24.215
- 00:04:24.215
- and collaborates with digital artists.00:04:27.967
- 00:04:27.967
- This installation was exhibited in Shanghai.00:04:31.593
- 00:04:31.593
- The third guest is Rune Guneriussen,00:04:36.465
- 00:04:36.465
- a recognized artist combining land art with photography.00:04:40.578
- 00:04:40.578
- He presents here a site-specific installation in the park.00:04:46.078
