At the Studio of Photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague we have been trying to perceive the fluid shapeless nature of a photography as its fundament. We proceed from the conviction that the awareness of a permanent transformation has to be revived all the time and it is necessary to work with it on purpose. We expect our students to think conceptually which is an antipole to a clearly intuitive work but it doesn’t necessarily mean a (post) conceptual work. It is a process making the students analyze continuously their own techniques and intentions and it naturally leads to being aware of the continuity of an art experience, context and environment they will work in as well as of the history of the department.
