As the title of the exhibition suggests the author has been inspired by summer vacation, camping and holiday resorts enriched by her personal childhood experiences. The second main line of the exhibition is Mitrikova´s long-term interest in folk culture, folklore, religion, Christian and pagan customs and legends (in cooperation with David Demjanovic in “Polygraphies”). In her paintings she joins this folk art with her own memories and stories (either real or invented). The result are then bizarre compositions consisting of pagan rituals and Christian ceremonies on the one hand and typically holiday artifacts (caravans, tents) and other objects on the other hand. All these objects mark the period of the end of socialism and they are depicted in a certain mist of the author´s own, childhood memories, which are often quite vague and idealized.
