The young Viennese curator Bettina Brunner who lived in London for some time was asked by das weisse haus to realize a group exhibition in the premises of Geigergasse 5. Artists from the latest call for proposal as well as artists selected by the curator herself took up positions to the exhibition title. “Getting It Wrong” deals with the subject of mistakes and errors employed by artistic practices which operate between language and action yet make use of different media. In terms of the works on show at the exhibition, ‘getting something wrong’ should not be understood as an inability, instead this position is deliberately employed as a means of communication within a social context. (…) Destabilizing norms, creating confusion and inducing laughter are points of departure for this exhibition.
