The paintings of Peter Cábocký are modestly painted investigations into form, content and colour where the repeated and loosely painted patterns border on ornament and modernist visual language.
The starting points for each painting are basic shapes, letters, badly drawn things combined with imperfect geometry to evoke incompleteness and limitation.
Peter Cábocký graduated from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dublin in 2008, then in 2011 gained a Masters in Fine Art degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. In 2013 Peter participated on an artist residency in Halle 14 in Lepzig through Košice Artists in Residence / KAIR /. This exhibition at Pyecka is his first solo exhibition in Slovakia, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and Intenda Foundantion.
