The exhibition project by Petra Lelláková and Vladimíra Večeřová presents a collection of works created during a foreign study stay in South Korean Seoul between 2010 and 2013. Each artist stayed in Seoul in different time and worked independently. Therefore, we can see two different approaches to the same foreign environment. On one hand, the artists try to enter it unnoticed and merge with it, on the other hand they point out some differences that the two cultures they work with represent. Petra and Vladimíra express themselves differently, the first works mostly with video and video performance, the other uses more varied media forms (video, painting, photography, object).

- that have been created within an artist-in-residence program in South Korea.00:00:19.407
- 00:00:19.407
- There are mostly videos exhibited here, but also a video-performance -00:00:26.615
- 00:00:26.615
- artworks created both in collaboration and individually.00:00:34.394
- 00:00:34.394
- It is important to say there is a certain handicap, since both artists are used to work in collaboration;00:00:38.640
- 00:00:38.640
- their work is based upon it.00:00:46.279
- 00:00:46.279
- And due to this inability there arised interesting alternatives, such as Astronomical Clock (Orloj) -00:00:50.002
- 00:00:50.002
- a fictitious event, a performance that created a kind of a video-bridge00:00:56.623
- 00:00:56.623
- between Prague and Seoul with a central motif of astronomical clock and the show in front of it00:01:05.936
- 00:01:05.936
- linking thus Czech tradition with the Korean one:00:01:14.394
- 00:01:14.394
- Petra produces sounds using traditional Korean musical instrument.00:01:19.570
- 00:01:19.570
- In other case, we can see here various themes that grabbed the artists' attention,00:01:32.180
- 00:01:32.180
- like Korean culture, Korean everyday life.00:01:39.612
- 00:01:39.612
- Each one of the artists was interested in something else.00:01:41.968
- 00:01:41.968
- One of them sets the Korean culture as a target of infiltration and fitting in,00:01:44.815
- 00:01:44.815
- the other one solely maps and explores the differences.00:01:51.891
- 00:01:51.891
- For example, in the work of Petra Lelláková entitled Present, a series of short videos00:01:56.272
- 00:01:56.272
- bring together scenes of Korean everyday life with Petra hiding in them.00:02:04.727
- 00:02:04.727
- It's a kind of a game with the viewer, who is looking for her in the image,00:02:14.296
- 00:02:14.296
- and that's something nobody knows in Korea.00:02:21.522
- 00:02:21.522
- Important, however, is that behind the seriousness of the topic one can find grotesque, joke and game.00:02:27.478
- 00:02:27.478
- And that is a specific aspect of their work.00:02:35.277
