- The very idea of the acoustic-social sculpture...00:00:18.907
- 00:00:18.907
- (because this is really how I see the Juke Box, that it is a social sculpture)00:00:24.187
- 00:00:24.187
- ... the idea was provoked by the offer of the guys from Bratislava...00:00:30.924
- 00:00:30.924
- what's their name... Public Pedestal.00:00:39.911
- 00:00:39.911
- They approached me with an offer to create some project00:00:44.202
- 00:00:44.202
- for the Námestie slobody - Square of Freedom.00:00:48.448
- 00:00:48.448
- And when I was thinking about what I should do there,00:00:52.689
- 00:00:52.689
- I ended up realizing it is only the sound,00:00:57.056
- 00:00:57.056
- which can take hold of the size of the square.00:01:01.390
- 00:01:01.390
- And there came the idea of public jukebox.00:01:05.734
- 00:01:05.734
- The dramaturgic colorfulness is at the very of core of the object.00:01:28.662
- 00:01:28.662
- When it comes to the idea jukebox00:01:33.024
- 00:01:33.024
- everyone imagines it containing radio hits00:01:37.294
- 00:01:37.294
- - and there are some in there, but only a few.00:01:41.476
- 00:01:41.476
- The jukebox is supposed to be a source00:01:45.672
- 00:01:45.672
- of sounds in their widest definition,00:01:49.947
- 00:01:49.947
- which means there can be found extreme things such as White Noise in it,00:01:54.308
- 00:01:54.308
- which is, actually, just a white noise.00:01:58.613
- 00:01:58.613
- Or one can listen there to sound records of data transfer,00:02:02.893
- 00:02:02.893
- animal noises, baroque laments,00:02:07.089
- 00:02:07.089
- slowed down song by Rolling Stones,00:02:12.996
- 00:02:12.996
- Tibetan monks chanting;00:02:17.100
- 00:02:17.100
- there is just so much of stuff there. And that's the point.00:02:23.606
- 00:02:23.606
- There are one hundred tracks.00:02:27.897
- 00:02:27.897
- And on top of that, the part of the menu00:02:33.441
- 00:02:33.441
- can be localized dramaturgically in the place, where the jukebox is being placed.00:02:37.660
- 00:02:37.660
- It means that one can upload there also spoken word, poetry,00:02:42.000
- 00:02:42.000
- music related to the place,00:02:46.293
- 00:02:46.293
- where the jukebox is standing at the moment,00:02:50.509
- 00:02:50.509
- which is also quite interesting.00:02:54.749
- 00:02:54.749
- It turned out to be a long-term project for me;00:03:26.518
- 00:03:26.518
- already now I know it is going to be placed in other cities,00:03:30.857
- 00:03:30.857
- and I think it can be made ever better. So I will spend with the sculpture,00:03:35.392
- 00:03:35.392
- hopefully, a few years ahead00:03:39.527
- 00:03:39.527
- and it will become a source of many interesting experiences.00:03:43.893
