Sergey Kiryuschenko is to be called one of the key Belarusian artists. Although he identifies himself as a painter, he also uses mixed media, neon, land art, etc. in his artwork, what does really distinct him from other artists of his generation, more orientated to academic art. At critics concern his strategies as “critique of painting by its own means”. His artwork is united by the idea of interaction of the real, painted and abstract.
Born in 1951 in Chita (Russia), lives and works in Belarus.
