Nature and purity form the two main topics of Lukáš Kubec‘s gently ironic practice. They can be found in his dynamically introspective portraits of preschool children, his sobering still lives of houseplants and his photographs of the arboretum in Šumavas.

His use of large format photography causes a ceremonial and even magical authenticity to his latest works, and despite his recent attempts to disengage with the aesthetics of traditional photography, his style remains sophisticated.

Kubec (b. 1979) studied under the tuition of Pavel Baňka at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
