Artists are considered to be the seismographs of their society. Sensitivity is attributed to them, particularly in the face of detecting change, future issues or sociological problems. At the same time the artist is constantly exposed to new requirements.
Artist in the Art Society presents works by artists from both the former socialist countries and the West. Both groups now operate in a global art world, each with different expectations and dreams as a direct result of their backgrounds and values.
The exhibition explores the period between the mid 1990’s and today. As the newer generation of artist will experience fewer differences between the East and West, it is likely that the artistic differences highlighted by this exhibition will in turn decrease.
