Raster is an independent art space in Warsaw. Established in 2001, it exhibits and represents emerging artists from Poland and abroad. The gallery’s program focuses not only on visual art but also includes screenings, discussions, literary events, concerts, and informal meetings focused on the local community. Our strategy is to work both internationally and locally in order to combine the most progressive art achievements with the spirit of private, everyday social existence.

Raster is run by Lukasz Gorczyca (b. 1972) and Michal Kaczynski (b. 1974). Gorczyca and Kaczynski are established fixtures in the local art community, thanks in part to their dynamic activities as critics and curators. They are primarily known for Raster magazine, which has been published since 1995; in the fall of 2000, the magazine was transformed into an online weekly art journal.
