EUROPEANS TAKE ME WITH YOU PLEASE

Californian artist Zach Houston presents over one hundred stream of consciousness drawings. His freely associative works on paper explore linguistic and conceptual texture and syntax. His drawings take the form of visual conversations or catalogues of thought.

They ricochet between linguistics, psychology, pataphysics, John Cage, situationists, Buckminster Fuller, ancient civilizations, and contemporary conspiracy theory.

These ‘drawings with words’ converge with the artist’s ongoing Poem Store, a ‘performance/business/literature project’ in which the artist sells spontaneous free verse poetry composed on a manual typewriter in public spaces.
