Fold of Breath

The project Fold of Breath is freely inspired by the set of photographs Le Mouvement by Etienne-Julese Marey from the end of the 19th century analysing human movement by the help of a photograph. 
The movement there is demonstrated as a scheme eliminating all objects or spatial elements that are undoubtedly associated with a camera. Starting point for the artists was a picture of a figurant shrouded in black clothes with marked points (white dots and lines on one part of the body) and a scheme which is a photographic record of the figure’s walking. Conception of the movement projected in a two-dimensional level transposes time into space and at the same time it eliminates the corporeity which is the object of the study.
