We are an editorial collective shaped by the artistic environment. Our focus is on contemporary art in the context of current social issues, along with an exploration of its critical potential.
In this section documentary-focused and author´s programes devoted to different topics are published.
Artyčok.TV continuously produces programs focusing, for instance, on environmental issues (Art of the Antropocene) or social issues (Architecture of Coexistence). Over the years many videos have been made, dealing with significant current thoughts, ideas, reflections and attitudes, which resonate in the field of art and deserve attention (e.g. Video Game Fiction Work or podcast Na čom makáš?). The seven-part series Character deals with the history of Czechoslovak animation and illustration.
In 2010 and 2013 several videos were made about Socialist-era architecture in Slovakia and public space. In 2014 the video Chrámy peněz (Temples of Money) was made and dealt with banks and savings banks in the 1990s. In 2016 the COSA prepared for Artyčok a series of videos on architecture of the 1970s-80s.
In the past a larger number of contributions criticizing contemporary art institutions was published. From 2012 till 2018 the series entitled Critical Series focused on different phenomena on the Czech art scene, especially the dubious functioning of some Czech institutions. It also involved the presentation of several foreign events and discussions. Hranaté stoly (Square Table) is a series in which the art critic Jiří Ptáček interviews three guests. 85 results
