The concept of the exhibition stems from a dialogue between historical works presented in 1993 by a group of emerging artists from Ústí nad Labem at two editions of the exhibition NARUŠENÁ ROVNOVÁHA (DISTURBED BALANCE) at the Municipal House in Prague and the Emil Filla Gallery in Ústí nad Labem, and completely new projects by younger artists born in the 1980s, who had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of Ústí nad Labem, especially during their university studies, and this experience led them to develop their authentic creative attitudes.

In the event projected here worked Jiří Černický with the heat effect and a motif of reflection. He used the Iron – “a female” appliance touching intimate garments but at the same time a „male“ impersonal tool used as a mirror and a brush. He stepped back from the camera to the place where a fata morgana originated due to the thermal inversion.
Kakalík, Ivan Mečl
The „feature“ film Floodlit Death was made in 2000 by Ivan Mečl and Kakalík (David Kalika) in the production of TeleDVision of the Divus publishing house. Actors and mostly visual artists came from the Divus circle. The film shows the Prague ferocity in the 90ies with a typical period background – advertising agencies, mafia and the Persian Gulf War veterans. Not only the main character of a detective cannot deny the affinity to Vít Soukup's films.

In this video Artyčok.TV examines Artbanka with a critical eye. Artbanka defines itself as being a non-profit project that helps young artists to get their foot in the door of this competitve art world. Under closer inspection one discovers the project is not as charitable as it first appears. After purchasing young Czech and Slovak artists' work, Artbanka rents or lends the work to individuals and companies. Artbanka has closely colaborated with City Gallery Prague, and this video scrutinises the two institutions' relationship through a series of interviews that highlights their somewhat sketchy partnership.
