As part of the S.LOW project, Berlinbased artist, researcher, and educator Andre Bartetzki created a special environment that he installed in the premises of the projektraum schwarz gallery in Berlin’s Neukölln district. The work reflects the fusion of two theories: meme and brane.
The concept of a meme involves the idea of a “gene” that carries cultural information, while the idea of a brane is related to M-theory and string theory within the mathematical description of space.
The installation’s aim is clearly not to describe these theories literally, but rather to freely interpret the sound space, the space around us that we produce and consume.
