Andreas Müller-Pohle photographs the Danube, the only major European river to flow from West to East. Beginning at its source in Germany, he followed the course of the river through four European capitals, until Romania where it finally reaches the sea.
His documentation project highlights the unique cultural, historical and economical connection between the river and the countries it passes through. He also records water pollution levels with underwater photographs.
