GIRL IN FRONT OF JÓSZEF CSATÓ PAINTING

The title of the exhibition Girl in front of József Csató Painting was taken directly from one of the works in the show. It depicts a girl standing in front of a painting, which was later made into a work in its own right by the artist. Most of the oil paintings in the exhibition are portraits, their subjects either slightly turned away or facing to the side showing only their profile to the viewer. At times the figure has left the canvas altogether, leaving only a possession in sight to remind you that they were once there.
