GLOBAL LOCALS exhibition presents artists from different countries, different continents, speaking different languages, artist, artists of different ages, different mediums and interests. But they all have in common their home, Prague. Countries from which individual authors came include USA, UK, Russia, Ukraine, France, Switzerland, Italy, Uruguay, Latvia, Croatia, Serbia, Norway, Israel, Iran, Mauritius. The exhibition presents a wide range of media and approaches, with some emphasis on topics related to the reflection of their own social situation of artists in general, change of place, with questions of identity, entity vs. relationship. society, with a view to Bohemia “outside” criticism or xenophobia. Another important theme exhibited works of art is the language semantics, the relationship between the sign and the reality and the related phenomenon of “translation”.
