Greenhorn Ego

“The Hunt of the Unicorn” is a collaborative project by Birutė Letukaitė, Vita Gelūnienė, Evaldas Jansas and “Aura” Dance Theatre within the Interdisciplinary program of contemporary arts and dance at the Kaunas Biennial in 2011. Unicorn is a most common theme of medieval tapestries symbolizing innocence, which can only be approached by a virgin. It brings luck and good. Choreographer Birute Letukaite visited the studio where Vita Geluniene wove, they discussed Vita’s visions and the possibilities of fulfilling them. The collaborative project ended up with video, where Evaldas Jansas revealed the Unicorn vision in video, as Birute Letukaite did it with dance, and Vita Geluniene – in woven tapestry.
