This Madisson’s first solo exhibition studies gruel as a device. Since the establishment of agrarian society, gruel and gruel-related foods have been the main food source in lower social strata and still are in many societies. Gruel has always been the symbol of repression or the repressed. Madisson aims at examining the forgotten symbol as well as expanding the meaning of gruel as a symbol in the awareness of exhibition visitors. As the artist believes, the attitude of those saying that „they would never eat gruel“ is extremely worrying, expressing disdainful values towards the burdens of human existence. As long as we are human beings, we are all destined to „eat gruel“, some of us more and some of us less. Considering the fact, current exhibition welcomes human solidarity and not intending to pass a political or social-critical message.
