Young Slovak artist Ingrid Višňovská (1978) presents her installation Silence at the Centre of Contemporary Art in Trnava. Since graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, she has taken to using an unconventional palate including lasers, light, acoustics, heat and kinetics. In this particular exhibition she uses the power of UV to illuminate her work, an installation of hundreds of replicas of her eyes. The whole effect is that of a crowd, defiantly staring back at the viewer. A re-occurring motif within contemporary art, Višňovská has used the eye in previous works, including Eye (2007) and previous presentations of Silence (Bratislava 2008, Prague 2009).
