These Krasný Czechs by Paula Delgado is a new series in the artist’s ongoing project Cómo Sos Tan Lindo, How Come You Are So Beautiful, which was realised as part of the 2nd year of the Micro Residencies program organised by Galería Parásito/… in Prague.
Delago has previously worked on and exhibited the How Come You Are So Beautiful series in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Valparaiso, Vienna, Barcelona and London. The project begins with Delago placing an ad in the local paper, ‘Casting. Attractive men needed for photos’.
The photographs are shown alongside films of the shoots held in hotel rooms and short interviews between artists and subject. The resulting discussions turn around the concept of beauty, the relationship between a man and his body, and the various constructions of masculinity.
