The exhibition „Kindly Familiar“ is going to be a surprise for many of us not due to the artefacts themselves but rather to the artists standing behind them. Daniel Vlček is regarded as a person related to a collective identity of Guma Guar. Matyáš Chochola is known as an outspoken author of intimate burlesques. We are not used to being shown auction art by these artists. The supposed conformance is just a visual language. It’s possibilities are discovered by another artists in time when nonconformance is regarded as expected and became an inflexible self-reflexive feature.
