This group show at the Magacin Cultural Centre in Belgrade makes up part of the project SerbiArt conceived by the painter Milan Bosnić. The exhibition is touring a number of major European cities and is accompanied by a set of lectures and a book, also entitled SerbiArt.

The project hopes to present Serbian culture to the European public, with an emphasis on moving forward from an art scene blighted by years of crisis, destruction, intolerance and wars.

Bosnić identifies two main periods in Serbian culture, 1991-1999, a period of war and isolation, followed by 1999-2009, a period of transition. This show aims to present a group of artists whose work has a progressive quality, in line with European artistic practice as a whole.
