Rejoicing

Fresh finalist of Oskar Čepan Award, Erik Sikora (1986), has been testing art since the beginning of his studies at AVU in Prague. He´s been testing art as an expansive quantity, as a unique public space or we can say: as a medium for other media as well as an option for life and even for living. Art is his way of thinking, visual music and a play.
He is asking himself hence he´s asking us a principal question which seems to be trivial at first: What is art good for? Or he ask himself: Can art compete with sea or blooming cherry garden? Is it possible to earn one´s living with art? He is searching for the answers – how to deal with the questions mentioned, original answers to simple questions or he offers several ways how to answer. At the moment he is dealing with the questions how to give us positive vibrations and joyful energy.
You might be in doubts … is he a dealer or new eccentric guru? If we look into Erik´s head and his kitchen by means of the exhibition, it will be up to us to be amazed by the form, strategy or illustration of rejoicing. If you feel struck by it, do not hesitate to film yourself and share it.
