THE WORLD AS A STAGE

Streets, squares, parks, supermarkets, websites, and many other locations have become home to the stage of urban life that allows us to display our everyday actions and behaviors.  As such, they have in turn become a topic for the artist.

“The World as a Stage” uses the increasing tendency towards lifestyle theatre as an opportunity to confront the viewer with an alternative life model, and to show how existing forms of self-staging can be reinterpreted in an emancipative manner.

In their work, the participating artists work with art, media staging, and real life. The exhibition is a combination of performances, video, and photography, and also stages virtual and architectural platforms challenging existing conventions of the theatrical.
