Jakub Petr continues by his studies in his family glass tradition but in his free production he connects his liking for mathematics and physics to constructions of electronically controlled mechanisms. At the exhibition within the Start up III project he introduces a monumental kinetic object inspired by electromagnetic radiation, string theory and de Broglie’s atomic model. The machine with rotating parts fastened by LED diodes creates illusive light pictures in shapes of helixes on toroid surface (a 3D body of a ring shape) „While interpreting elementary physics you find out the truth and reveal basic principles of nature. I am inspired by this world and I try to materialize its essence in the human scale,” the author says. Jakub Petr studies at Studio of Glass under Rony Plesl at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design.
