All Alone

In his work, Cabalka is post-modernally eclectic, he combines pop-cultural motives with collage references to classic works of art.

The paintings use relatively settled list of his characteristic motives and quotations. The exhibition includes a set of his recent works, which are presented in a carefully composed installation.

Petr Cabalka (graduated in 2009 at a painting studio of FaVU) works together with a group Anymade (together with Filip Nerad and Jan Šrámek) dealing with an artistic, curator and graphic work. The name of the exhibition – All Alone – paraphrases „the event“ of the artist’s first solo exhibition and at the same time also the romantically introspective character of his paintings and drawings.

All Alone
We are used to reading lines of a drawing similarly to how we read physical features of a human face. From those several lines and points we manage to distinguish not only personality but also guess the state of mind it currently finds itself in. Drawn characters has become a common part of our visual environment. In them we will read testimonies about our traits and our acts that are, thanks to the character itself, freed from the weight of fatal determination.
