MAGNETS (KRIŠTOF AND ANDREA)

The video is a part of a series from 1993–1995 (while studying under M. Bielicky in the studio of new media) which focused on human interaction or its possibilities and borders created by feelings of alienation, insecurity, fear and inability to communicate.

They are mostly short sequences which aim at capturing the space between what is regarded as banal and fundamental. In this video we watch a face of a young man and a woman turning away from each other and then meeting for a split of a second. The expression in their faces does not change. However, if the viewer lets the picture effect him for some time, it can be changed to express a whole range of feelings from tenderness over disinterest to cruelty.
