Silvia Amancei & Bogdan Armanu

Acknowledging the precariousness of the political, economical and especially artistic (cultural) context in which we, Silvia and Bogdan, develop and activate, we find a way to embrace our alienated position towards the western art (cultural) discourse. In order to solve our problem, by making use of narrative instruments, we create new backgrounds for our artistic practice, presenting us as eastern-european artists which activated, subversively, in the communist Romania, but never become public after the end of the regime with their performance-type critical practice.
Through this we focus in questioning the colonial-type practices of the western discourse, its institutional fetishistic mechanics and the addictiveness of its global idea and promise for the peripheral and poor ones, for which emigration is often their only solution.
