The Golden Collection introduces two new sets of paintings. Stratil made the first one in spring at a studio of Brno University of Technology – Faculty of Fine Arts (Spring Collection) and the second one was made during a holiday stay at an art symposium „Workshop“ in Mikulov (Summer Collection). From spring to summer was the original grotesqueness enriched with voluptuous lyricism, but both sets are related not only by a conception of „portrait galleries“ but also by a main motif of male genitals with whose expanded versions are equipped both men and women. The penises are swinging inactively in the crotch, they are obediently winding around a thigh or stick out covetously – and they all emphasize characters of Stratil’s fictive and historical figures.
