Class of Interpretation II. - Chus Martínez and Ingo Niermann

Chus Martínez and Ingo Niermann on Love, Partnership and Conflicts of interest

What can you do when you can do nothing? Ties, bonds, embraces, and fights are methods to relate. The invited speakers think about the importance of trust, love, and care and posit them as crucial components necessary in order to form a think tank, a working group, or an exchange pool. How is this different from nepotism? It is different from nepotism because the main goal is not to corrupt power with relations, but to form relations to regain a sense of relevance.
Curator and author Chus Martínez and author and artist Ingo Niermann discuss the joys and complications of being an artistic couple, from collaboration to conflicts of interest. Taking as a point departure their shared personal ground they investigate the possibly generative ontologies of love, compassion, and partnership from within an arts context and beyond it to society at large.

Class of Interpretation II. - Chus Martínez and Ingo Niermann
Dominik Lang has been involved in exhibition design for a long time. However, unlike other artists, his approach differs in the degree to which he emphasizes the creative aspects of the profession. The result often oscillates between exhibition design and autonomous installation while he himself admits that he deliberately violates this boundary. For this reason, he prefers the term "author of the exhibition's artistic design" or "author of the spatial design".
