The exhibition Intérieurs. Anatomy of Space at the Ferdinand Baumann Gallery presents a selection from two photographic series by the Berlin-Marseille artist duo schnepp • renou (Simon Schnepp and Morgane Renou). HB40-43# – Fahrbereitschaft Lichtenberg, the garages of the GDR vehicle fleet, and SW34# – the offices of computer giant Oracle are captured at the moment before their reconstruction and after the loss of their original function. Fahrbereitschaft Lichtenberg is currently being converted into the headquarters of a private art collection. The power of schnepp • renou's photographs lies in their objective, analytical approach, which reveals the anatomy of architecture through recurring motifs and angles. In their independent work, schnepp • renou focus on architecture; their photographs have been exhibited at the DAM Architecture Museum in Frankfurt, the Estonian Architecture Museum in Tallinn, and published in prestigious magazines such as L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui. The series les grands ensembles received an honorable mention in the 2013 European Prize for Architectural Photography.
