Living Memorial is a counter-memorial initiated by the public and a grassroots social movement. It is a series of demonstrations since March 2014 based on participation and public discussions in the public space, organised by civilians against the Memorial for the Victims of the German Occupation of Hungary.
The waves of the so called “color revolutions” in former soviet republics like Georgia (“rose revolution”) and the Ukraine (“orange revolution”) are types of uprisings for just and democratic presidential elections. The spirit of color revolution, characterized by the unsatisfactory state of the institution of elections and by struggles to establish it, is present in almost all the post-Soviet countries, but here we reserve the term color revolution for those countries where special early presidential elections took place.

What kind of cultural figures did the generation of the upcoming artists in Bosnia have at their disposal, at the time of their “spontaneous cultural formation”, until they have (in)formally decided to become a part of the discourse of “the contemporary visual art”?
The output of that research varies from works in the public space and architectural structures to sculptures and smaller work. Within this undefined area, the duo developed a practice that thematizes the friction between function (architecture) and autonomy (image) in an increasingly emphatic manner, and is centered around the central question: at what point does the daily experience of space turn into an aesthetic one?
The two-year artistic research project deals with the role of the protest image and its possible impact on real social, political, and economic changes. Through its individual outputs, the project offers multiple perspectives on the use of visual or audiovisual documentation as a possible emancipatory tool of the people.
The departure point for “Prompted” is a shared fascination by the three invited artists and the curator for spaces of ambiguity opened up by aural works. The works selected for each of the artists configure the contrast that exist between an authorial voice framing an artistic experience and images recorded simply with live recording and surround sound.
