Director and Founder

Three display windows in a functional passegeway projected in the 1930ies by the renowned architect Rosenberg has been providing a space for contemporary art exhibitions for two years already. Clearly limited space of the windows together with the unique surround of the passageway provides the artists with an opportunity to try out the limits, possibilities and advantages of installations in public space.

This time are in the Ferdinand Baumann Gallery being displayed photographs by Lukáš Jasanský and Martin Polák. The exhibition is called Director and Founder and it presents a set of photographs depicting a life of a director of a small community centre in the subburbs of Cracow. Both the photographs installation in the display windows and the most valuable object – a standard of Polish Sokol members who kindly lended it to the Czech Republic, make purposely the exhibition nothing more than a famous „board of honour“.
