In my work I come out from search through photographs, I create collages which are important for me when I paint. For the KIN Canteen Gallery I made use of old pictures related to cooking, canteens, old pictures from school. The place reminds me of a school canteen, as if the time stood still there.
Another motive is an empty frame which was left after the painting was stolen. In my previous work I have already referred to the painting’s frame. Here I used the frame directly in the painting, I delimit the events taking place on the canvas. The frame is the only feature which is evident, the rest is unclear as well as the memories springing to mind. I also refer to the history of painting by the frame.
