The protagonists of Sikora’s similes are trivial animals, plants and mundane elements of material world in their simple state of being. He takes interest in marginal and repressed social phenomena and thinks about them visually.

The project Bellevue di Monaco takes place in several buildings in the centre of Munich. The buildings were supposed to be demolished in order to build new luxury apartments there. The colony in Ostrava called Bedřiška has belonged among the so-called socially excluded localities for a long time. However, Bedřiška does not show any features that most probably come to your mind when we speak about excluded localities. The people are happy to live there, they regard the place as their home and they try to keep their houses as well as public spaces in good order and tidy.
For a long time, I didn't know what to write about this exhibition. It has no theme, the exhibiting artists have nothing in common, and their selection is purely subjective—I selfishly decided based solely on which paintings I personally found remarkable. It was only yesterday in my studio that one of the artists told me about a curator who reproached her for not providing any key to her paintings.
