OSKÁR ČEPAN’S AWARD 2012: Mira Gáberová

Through the elements of drama, tragedy and melancholy, Mira Gáberová (1979) creates an effect of pathos in her work, which she then deliberately transforms. Thus, the process results in permanent confrontations of meanings followed by the subsequent reconciliation with chaos. She works with the formal limits of video as well as deconstruction and various forms of authorial collaboration, interpretation and appropriation. Her latest works take on the form of videos, performances, installations, photographs and drawings.
