Igor & Ivan Buharov

Kornél Szilágyi and Nándor Hevesi have been working together under the pseudonym Igor & Ivan Buharov since 1995. Their films, mainly shot with a Super-8 camera, combine experimental film making methods with aspects of storytelling. The protagonists in their films are usually amateurs and friends whose specific language and dialogue contributes to an atmosphere of timelessness and uncertainty of place. Besides their films (experimentals, features, shorts, documentaries, animations), they have also been involved in the creation of several music projects and film music. Their works are always dancing on the edge of fine art and cinematic art.

Igor & Ivan Buharov
The „feature“ film Floodlit Death was made in 2000 by Ivan Mečl and Kakalík (David Kalika) in the production of TeleDVision of the Divus publishing house. Actors and mostly visual artists came from the Divus circle. The film shows the Prague ferocity in the 90ies with a typical period background – advertising agencies, mafia and the Persian Gulf War veterans. Not only the main character of a detective cannot deny the affinity to Vít Soukup's films.
